Sue M. Acito, M.Ed.

Hi! I’m Sue (she/her) and I’m glad you’re here!

About Me

Professionally~

In 2016, I pivoted into working in higher education. Since 2019, I’ve leveraged my skills and experiences into creating a new holistic counseling program at my current institution for Pre-medical/Pre-health post-bacc students who are either academic enhancers or career pivoters.

I've grown from being the sole counselor, then lead counselor, into being the program’s Assistant Director of Counseling. Some of my recent accomplishments include, expanding the unit’s counseling offerings, serving on various committees, developing campus collaborations, and supporting colleagues’ professional development. I take a whole-person and community-centered approach in all I do.

Beyond my administrative duties, I still manage a caseload of specialized individual sessions, facilitate short-term psychoeducational groups, and deliver skills-based webinars in areas including (but not limited to)-

  • moving through stress and performance anxiety

  • navigating imposter syndrome

  • crafting impactful personal statements for graduate school and health professional schools

  • holistic/whole-person well-being in the workplace
